The breakdown
What happened, measurement by measurement.
Every chart below is transcribed from the report you can open above. Green means the AgriTec program won the measure outright; grey means it came in statistically even, which on a quality measure is the result you want — the yield came without a give-back.
Harvest weight per plot
The extra bushels showed up on the scale, not just in the yield math.
Grain moisture at harvest
No drydown penalty — the yield gain is not wet corn on the scale.
Test weight
Grain quality held at full test weight across every program.
Plant stand
Every plot started from the same population, so the gain isn't a stand artifact.
Everything else that was measured
Including the measurements that did not move. A trial that only reports what improved isn't a trial.
Harvest weight
27.7 to 32.1 lb/plot
P = 0.013 · LSD 2.62 lb · every program differs from the check
Plant stand (6/14)
30,492 to 31,508 plants/ac
P = 0.304 · not significant · LSD 1,014 · CV 2.1%
Grain moisture at harvest
15.6 to 16.6%
P = 0.833 · not significant · no drydown penalty
Test weight
56.0 to 56.8 lb/bu
P = 0.712 · not significant · grain quality held
Relative yield increase
+16.8%
Top program vs untreated: 166.0 vs 142.1 bu
What the report says
- Yields corrected to 15.5% moisture, 56 lb bushels. Means separated by LSD at P = .05.
- Harvest weight rose from 27.7 to 32.1 lb/plot (P = 0.013) while moisture and test weight held steady, so the gain is not a moisture artifact.
- Plant stand did not differ significantly (30,492 to 31,508 plants/ac, P = 0.304), so every plot started from the same population.
- Treatment 5 delivered +22.5 bu on the lightest program: 19.5 gal/ac with no applications after V8.
- Five application windows: PRE broadcast and in-furrow on 5/31, foliar at V4, V8 and VT. Foliar passes in 15 gal/ac water, in-furrow at 5 gal/ac.
Trial notes & scope
- Single site, single season (2022, Agricenter International, Memphis TN).
- The four treated programs are statistically equivalent to each other. Differences among them fall inside the LSD of 15.12 bu, so they should not be ranked against one another.
- Stand count (P = 0.304), grain moisture (P = 0.833) and test weight (P = 0.712) showed no significant treatment effect.
- Not conducted under GLP/GEP. ARM 2023.0 trial management.
- The report prints yield CV two ways: 6.15% in the chart footnote and 6.2 in the data table.
